Carenado Baron and C340 on sale

Recommended Posts

I noticed Carenado Baron and C340 on sale now for Xplane 10-30

Anyone know if these planes are now 64 bit?

G'day,

I just checked their site and they say both aircraft are 64 bit compatible.

I might just have to buy them myself - thanks!

I wonder if "64 bit compatible" means they are 32 bit but can run on Xplane's 64 bit?

They've been 64 bit compatible ever since Version 2, they are up to Version 3.0 now.

That link mentions:

"Overhauled plugin-enhanced sound and lighting, X-Plane 10 optimizations, and many further improvements. These packages run on either X-Plane 9 or X-Plane 10, so customers who bought them for X-Plane 9 could run them in X-Plane 10 without any problem.”"

******** See edit below :

XP9 is 32 bit.

XP10 is 64 bit.

It is hard to sort out!

The "compatible" part.

X-Plane tech got me straight.

X-plane10 is 64 bit but comes with X-plane10 32 bit program also.

I wonder if the Carenado Baron for Xp10-30  is a lot better than the default Baron in XP10-30?

I got the Baron during last year's holiday sale, together with the F33 Bonanza. Really like both of them. The Carenado version looks much better than the stock X-Plane version, and the sounds are some of the best I've heard in X-Plane, almost on par with FSX.

Haven't bought the C340, it doesn't really appeal to me. This year I picked up the Caravan and PA-32 Saratoga :)

Well, better sound, better graphics, better handling, Scroll-wheel support. The C340 on the other hand is probably ,together with the Malibu, the Carenado Plane that I nearly never use.

I just got the 340 - not a fan - way underpowered.

It looks better than their Baron but I fly the Baron more.

I think the main difference is that 64-bit compatible planes "may" use plug-ins that are 64-bit and do not work in 32-bit versions. On the other hand, if a plane is "64-bit compatible" it may not use 64-bit plug-ins and simply work in both versions?
