Someone mentioned this commercial flight Sim in another Thread.

I think it was the FSX Steam 90% off thread but then I couldn't find the post again

but wanted to comment on it. Its a shame that this company like LM doesn't

make this available to the enthusiast Market. It looks fantastic!

That is an awesome video but I doubt that it will run on a home PC. When I was 14 (38 yrs ago) I had a chance to fly an Air Force A7 full scale sim. The level of detail at that time was amazing. Better than anything then and for quite a while.

Thanks, Ron Fields

That didn't look very impressive. I think Prepar3D v2 looks a lot better.

The buildings in Manhattan are really impressive but other parts of this sim are not as good as what we currently have.....example would be the airports, the runways that lie over each other, etc.

I think the only thing is saw in that video as far as eye candy is concerned that is inferior to what we have with P3D or FSX is some of the textures and the water is not quite as good as P3D. Having said that, I believe it is a full world sim. Perhaps the level of detail is highest in areas they are showing off in the video but the cities, Manhattan in particular and Washington are spectacular. I don't recognize the other city they show. That tells me that's the level of detail possible everywhere. Note the terrain shadows. Far superior to P3D V2 Terrain shadows. Its a shame the developer of this sim does not release an entertainment version and allow third party content. Looks to me like it could be years ahead of what we have now.

I'm sure the areas selected for the promo video are few of a kind. It is impossible to get that kind of detail for the whole world, simply because there isn't source data/photos to support it. The amount of data would also be massive and unmanagable.

I spot both Hawaii and Rio, in addition to DC and NY.

Well, Google has a massive amount of data.  Just sayin.

They sure do, but even Google Street view is limited in coverage, and try flying a jet through those streets @ 300 kts and we'll see stutters that make FSX in October 2006 look like the fastest game on earth. Just sayin' :D

The grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence...

Other than the NYC Skyline/ building  portion of the video I really wasn't that impressed.

Ironic that Diamondvisionics was selected for the F-22 (Lockheed Martin) training program according to their website.

What makes you think it uses Prepar3D?

I think the point is that LM us the Diamond Visionic simulator for their F22 training program and not prepar3D. It appears they make a big point of saying that it is 60hz and by that I think they mean 60FPS. This likely becomes much more important at high speeds at low altitude for a fluid experience in a simulator.

Then you also don't think it uses Prepar3D either?

That looked pretty impressive to me, and better than anything available in P3D
