December 23, 201411 yr Moderator What makes you think it uses Prepar3D? Huh, I didn't think anything about P3D. Just said it was ironic. Who's "it"? Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 23, 201411 yr Imagine if someone like Rockstar Games decided to unleash their talent pool into a flightsim.
December 23, 201411 yr Then you also don't think it uses Prepar3D either? I get the impression its an entirely different sim but I have not read the entire site. Rockstar Games Rockstar games would only be interested if their market research showed that it would be the best selling computer game of all time. There games make more money on the first day of release than biggest Hollywood movies make first day.
December 24, 201411 yr Structure from motion. Photogrammetry on a massive scale based on differences between images... This is the same method Google uses for their 3D cities in Maps and Earth now and the same method Lockheed sells as a paid add-on to the P3D SDK. Nothing new here that you can't already get in Google Earth flight simulator... Except maybe higher poly counts and a flight optimized rendering engine.
December 24, 201411 yr Huh, I didn't think anything about P3D. Just said it was ironic. Who's "it"? "It" refers to what you said. Ironic that Diamondvisionics was selected for the F-22 (Lockheed Martin) training program according to their website. Gerry Howard

December 24, 201411 yr The 60hz is what the image generators for the sims use. I think it has something to do with the collimated displays and the fluid cues that are required. our 30fps just doesnt cut it. CAE uses the Tropos system for their simulators. AME GE90, GP7200 CFM56
