May 13, 200521 yr hey Shane, put me on your list too! I'd love to use CYHZ as my home airport. :-)billg
May 13, 200521 yr A new CYHZ would be awesome. The moshers did a great job on their sceneries but YQM is way out of date now. The old terminal has since been torn down, only the tower remains. Everything has been moved over to Apron 8 where the new Terminal is. On the mosher scenery the new terminal is there and it looks good, but its fenced in at the taxiway, and there are no jetways or parking spaces. It also needs some heavy parking for the Corsair A330,and 747 due in the summer. As well as the Thomas Cook 757 that comes. I don't have access to the terminal to take pictures otherwise id be there in a second.Grubs
May 13, 200521 yr I don't have UT yet, but I do plan on purchasing it.I really liked what Scott Gridley did with his Freeflow NE. For those of you who don't have it, he separated out his files by landscape type and by area, then labeled the ones that conflicted with various sceneries, and gave a comprehensive list of which of his files to turn off and which of theirs. It worked wonderfully for me as I had most of the sceneries he identified. Thanks for all your hard work,Thomas
May 13, 200521 yr Grubs,Getting into YQM shouldn't be a problem. I hadn't realized that it had changed that much. After I get through with YSJ, I'll call the Moncton Airport Authority or whatever they are called and see if I can set up a visit. Do you live close by? I'm going to YSJ next Tuesday at 10am to take pics. If you do live in the area and are interested, I could use the help. My regular helper is unavailable due to a fishing trip. Thanks,Adam
May 13, 200521 yr Hey Adam,I dont live near enough to saint john that i could get there to help out. I live in moncton so when you do go there, let me know , i might be able to help out. I'll see if i can take some pictures myself, i might be able to get access. Kris
May 14, 200521 yr I have Ultimate Terrain, FSGlobal 2005 and FSGenesis 76m Northern Canada. I'd be interested in anything you put out for Canada. One place I would realy like to see some developemnt is Canada's Arctic region. I worked in avaition for 10 years all across the arctic and I find this area sadly lacking in detail. I would love to see someone do CYFB Iqaluit, the capital of Nunuvat. This was my base for many years and currently consists of a runway in FS2004, that's it. No town, no roads, nothing... You will find this at almost every place in the arctic. The landclass does not even closely represent the arctic and includes no towns.I look forward to what ever you produce.
May 14, 200521 yr The worst part is if you fly too far north - things start moving - Try landing on a moving runway lol! Just fly north from Resolute bay and you will see what I mean.
May 14, 200521 yr Interesting observation regarding moving scenery in the north regions. Haven't experienced that myself as I haven't done much far north flying. Unfortunately I wasn't in Manitoba long enough to get up to Churchill. I was offered a flight up there but I ended up leaving MB before I could go.DK, the pic you posted really illustrates how good a job UT does at representing the landclass of a given region. As always, if anyone was to supply pics, we'd be happy to tackle any airport.Cheers,Adam
May 14, 200521 yr Resolute Bay is a looooong ways north of Churchill lol. The terrain errors seem to start happening around 80 degrees north.
May 17, 200521 yr Thanks Thomas - no problem!I would love it if designers just replaced entire LOD5s, one at a time, but that's not practical for some...Best,sgPS>FREEflow website is open! Link in sig...well, link IS sig.:-smooch [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
May 17, 200521 yr Ultimate Terrain is designed on the LOD5 borders for that exact reason - makes it easier to integrate with other scenery addons. I think Holger S does the same thing.
