Crash at end of carrier launch deck?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

So I recently got FSX for the first time.  I have it on Steam.  I started loading up modules, found the F-14D package, as well as the Goshawk.  I found the AI carrier package, and loaded that up.  But I seem to be having a problem.

I can land on the carrier with multiple planes, the tomcat, the goshawk, the hornet...  And I can taxi to the launch area, and hook up.  I drop the launch bar, hook up to the catapult, and then attempt to launch myself.

And when I reach the end of the launch, it's like the plane hits an "Invisible wall", immediately registers a "crash", and restarts the mission.  I can try to turn off the crashes in the settings, but I'd prefer to leave it on.

Forgot one thing:  I also tried taking off without the catapult, and hit the same invisible wall, causing a crash.

One last edit, I promise:  The regular carrier on a schedule to leave Norfolk worked and still works fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!  -Dannes.

I don't have a solution , but would like to know which carrier and where did you find it?

I would really give switching crash detection off a try. It's flawed anyway IMHO, and it might give you another crash when landing.

That whole issue may be caused by the model itself, e.g. to allow certain extra features to work, or perhaps it's simply an incompatibility issue with SE.
