FSX crashes in random locations

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I recently purchased Orbx FTX Global, and I have been having a few issues with it.  Before the purchase and installation, FSX was working fine in all locations without crashes.  After the purchase, FSX has been crashing in the first few seconds after it loads all the scenery. It crashes at random airports not even near each other. However, some locations do work.  Does anyone know a fix for this problem? All help will be appreciated. Thanks!

The AVSIM CTD Guide provides a better translation of the Windows Error Report (.WER) but it will still show the faulting module as unknown.  Usually unknown crashes are followed by a StackHash or ntdll.dll error.  It appears you have narrowed your crash down to FTX Global.  Did you disable it and try again to see if the problem still exists.  If you think the crash occurred because of FTX Global, then you might be more successful posting your problem in the AVSIM Unofficial ORBIX Forum or post the problem on the FTX/Orbx website.  I think you will have to post a bit more information though but then, it would be the places where others would have this product installed and maybe you will get more people to respond to your issue.  I have not seen any problems like yours with FTX Global as we move all crash reports to this one forum for resolution.  I think it is best now, with your response, to move it to the Unofficial Orbx Forum.  Hope you can find a fix!

Thank you for your response, I posted the problem on ORBX's official forums about 24 hours ago and haven't received any response yet.

I have been having the same problem after getting Global three weeks ago. Not being a technowiz I thing I was asking too much from my system. I reduced my settings back down to where they were before changing to the recommended global settings including turning off autogen. Don't need it for airliner flying anyway. I also stopped using FSX FIBER ACCELERATER. Just had a fine flight with NGX KDFW-MGGT with no problems. Used ASN and OPUS camera. Hope this is of some help.
