How to use FSX in fullscreen mode on one monitor and a second one for misc

Recommended Posts

Hi!

As the title states I want to use one monitor to power FSX in fullscreen mode, while having the second one for other stuff like charts, weather program etc. The problem is that whenever I force FSX to run in fullscreen mode, everything goes black, including the second monitor. I have set the biggest monitor to my primary display but still no luck. FSX in windowed mode looks silly and doesnt work with DSR.

I have tried googleing it, but I only find recommendations of software which I cant get to work, while many are stating that you simply cant do this. FSX needs to be run in windowed mode.

Any workaround for this?

And for some reason, when I force FSX to fullscreen mode, its simply puts the game in the left corner in a 1cmx1cm square now. I may however use the second monitor for misc now.

AFAIK what you describe is hard coded into FSX at least for FSX MS but there may have been a fix for this in FSX SE you may want to check it out.  Surprised you can't get DSR to work in windowed mode it does for me as I never use full screen.
