Another radar gauge for VC & Window usage

Recommended Posts

Jakob,

Unless I am misunderstanding what you meant, With AS16 you don't really need a standalone option of the gauge, as both AS16's map and the AS16 web companion (which can display either in a separate window on your PC or on another PC, phone or tablet on your LAN) can show the weather radar independently of the the flight sim. In addition, there's also AS16's native XGauge, which can be installed as a popup gauge in any aircraft.

Hello guys,

I just updated my FlySimware Cessna 441 CONQUEST ll in FSX to REV1.9 and tried implementing the WX radar as I did it before in the previous version. Unfortunately it doesn't show any reaction. At the moment it looks like this:

VCockpit29]
size_mm=512,512
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$MV_WXM
background_color=0,0,0
gauge00=RolasnRadar!oRadGauge,           90,35,330,270, sweep|beam|icing|starton

//gauge00=MV_WX!WX,  0,0,512,361
//gauge00=MV_WX!WX,  90,35,330,270
//gauge01 = CONTROL_PANEL!clipboard RADAR,  90,50,330,250

The gauge still works with PMDG's JS41. It would be nice if someone could help implementing it?

Regards,
Axel

I woulkd be great if somehow it could be integrated with the VC GTN 750, since the GTN 750 presently doesn't implement the weather radar option when one selects it and just shows a message. Maybe you should email Flight 1 and see if they would be interested in incorporating your gauge into the GTN 750. Here's what the GTN Trainer Lite weather display looks like:

Hello and happy new year to all simmers!

Thanks to Bryn work, he gave me the idea to develop my own gauge. I wanted to have a gauge which can be integrated in Virtual Cockpits as well.

I have now a working Beta version which currently do:

- Windows standalone use or VC integration in existing [VcockpitXX] location

- Tilt/Range/Gain driven from Gps buttons

- Tlt/Range from mouse wheel (if Gps buttons unavailable)

- Sweep radar beam simulation (optionnal)

See below an example in the A2A PA-28, replacing the GPS:

Great work

Greetings,

Dennis Gillner

I just updated my FlySimware Cessna 441 CONQUEST ll in FSX to REV1.9 and tried implementing the WX radar as I did it before in the previous version.

Okay, after trying a lot of different things after posting my question I reverted to the previous version 1.8 in order to get Roland's WX-radar working again. Within only a few seconds the fresh panel.cfg was modified and everything looks nice.

For FlySimware Cessna 441 CONQUEST ll, REV1.8 a working solution in the VC looks like this:

[VCockpit29]
size_mm=512,512
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$RDR150
background_color=0,0,0

gauge00=RolasnRadar!oRadGauge,           90,50,330,250, sweep|beam|icing|starton
//gauge00=rxpWX500!RDR,0,0,512,380
//gauge01=ControlPanel!clipboard RADAR,  90,50,330,250

2016_12_17_12h43_38_AB.jpg

Of course I would be still interested having a working solution for the latest revision of the Conquest even if I can't see other functional changes.

Overlaying Radar Gauge is not always visible but you still have COM2/NAV2-functionality of the second GNS 430 in VC.
It may not be visible at all if there is no changing radar echo on the screen (e.g.,fair weather conditions).

Does anyone have a setting on how to set the radar up with the Feelthere erj145?

I know that the erj145 already meant to have a weather radar but it does not work for me.

Cheers

This is my first encounter with this gauge..

I got the gauge from the Avsim library, installed it as above - and get a "No radar link" message on the screen.

What do I do next? Help..:blush:

Bert, have you verified these 3 things, this was listed in Rolands trouble shooting section?

Radar gauge says « No radar link »!

• Is ASN running in background?

• Try to restart ASN

• Check your SimConnect installation

Cheers

Martin
