Global AI Ship Traffic FSX and P3D News and Support

Recommended Posts

Awesome work like always. I remember when landing into Hong Kong VHHH, I saw a lot more ships around the ocean and harbor there. But in P3D I didn't see that many. I have my ship traffic slider set to about 10%. Are these ships placed according to real world routes, or just randomly? Because it's very scarce.

Hi

Traffic levels differ from day to day and hour to hour, so on some flights you will see more and other less. Ships do not follow real world schedules, but follow routes which are realistic according to where they sail in the real world. I did reduce however from the first package a bit the load in Hong Kong - for those who like I have Kai Tak, Hong Kong International, Photo Scenery, Macau, ... installed the risk of performance loss should not be negleted. i might in a future updated include different traffic levels - so far it has just been one. And the next update includes many new models which are frequently visiting Hong Kong, so...

The Royal Navy should put names and numbers on the new River Class... Then they would enter the pack... Apart from those so far only the Broadsword class, which is no longer active in the UK. I was looking at the new destroyers, but did not do anything yet as they do exist as models already.

+1 for some more accurate uk warships please..

Have you considered some trident patrols perhaps, is it possible for ai subs to submerge and surface? :P

Only if it is done as an animation in the mdl - that can be done but it has a lot of limitations which would not make it very realistic.

Global AI Ship Traffic is perhaps the best single contribution given free of charge to this hobby, and with the sheer numbers historically speaking of freeware developers, that is really saying something!

I find myself ship watching half the time, just enjoying watching the P3D marine environment within FS.

THANK YOU !!!

One complication:

For some reason I have double ferries working one right behind the other. This does not seem to happen with the Ai ship traffic, just the ferries.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards.

Keep your settings slider to 96% to avoid the doubling up of the ferries.  Do not go to 100%..  This is the setting suggested by Larry Robinson of BC Ferries fame..

Thank you James.

That is probably the solution I am looking for along with the advice to not change aircraft from a saved flight.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

The drill ship is progressing - there will be quite a lot of nice options for additional helicopter fun in this next update :D

Nice work Henrik, I'll get around to installing your fabulous freeware one day.... Too many things to do much of the time.

Great work.  Guess I'm going to have to learn how to fly a helicopter. :-)

I guess so, because there isn't much space for a tripleseven ;)

At least in FSX the deck won't pitch and roll, only sail in one direction... ;)

Another amazing vessel KL !

That will be a long list... I actuually never did a list... If you see a ship with an H on the deck then it has a hard deck; also all navy ships which in real world have landing decks have hard decks; some ships just have a circle, however if it says Winch Only then forget it...
