Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was wondering if the PMDG 747 V2.0 will have a reduced price for those who have bought the PMDG 747V1

Thanks

99.9999999999999999999999%: No.

To be honest, I don't see why there should be a discount, it's a newly built add-on after all.

'ey up, 'umberside,

I certainly don't know for sure, but I'd doubt very much there will be a discount because it's a "ground up" development - they haven't used any components of the original V1 version.   Also 8+ years have passed since the original was released.

Certainly when they released the NGX, there was no discount for 737NG owners (albeit that was a FS9 only product).      And I certainly wouldn't have expected, or felt entitled to one.

I am sorry but I disagree, the fsx version was a porting from fs9, nothing to do with a new build expressly made for fsx.

Read my post again. I was (implicitly) talking about V2 being a newly built add-on. In any case, whether or not V1 was a newly built add-on doesn't matter at all in this discussion.

t doesn't matter how  or why v2 was developed.

It's a new product and PMDG will price it according the what  market will bear.

No discount, should be the same as with the NGX for customers of the 737 series for fs2002/fs2004.

I reluctantly bought the 777LRF at $89.99 and have over 2000 hours in it so far. Guess I like it. Patiently waiting to get back in 747 and specially 747-8i. We have been spoiled by the fidelity that PMDG are able to present to us given the limitaions of FSX.

No, it's an entirely new product.

It could be as much as the 777 for all I care. I justify the cost by dividing the number of hours spent, simulating on my computern into the original cost. Whatever it is, it's great and inexpensive entertainment. The more you use it, the cheaper it becomes.

Maybe a tad too early to talk about pricing at his point in time.

However, considering the planned scope of the 747v2 base product, a discount seems unlikely.

Gents-

There will be no special pricing on the PMDG 747-400v2.0.

It will appear in the shopping cart shortly at $350,000,000 per copy, just as the 777 did...  And then we will politely smile and nod when folks email us to ask if that will really be the price.

(Truth-be-told, we are just testing the market at that price.  If we could sell just ONE of them at that price point, we would give all other products away at no cost.  )

Good news! I added the 777 for P3D to my cart and apparently PayPal will give me 6 months to pay on all purchases over $99. All $350m at one time was a bit much but ~$60m/month... now I can do that.
