PMDG 747 V2 Price

Recommended Posts

(Truth-be-told, we are just testing the market at that price. If we could sell just ONE of them at that price point, we would give all other products away at no cost. )

Robert,

If I buy it at that price, can I have it now then or do I have to wait until official release date which I expect is going to be "soon" :LMAO:

Kind regards

Werner-

Once we have confirmed receipt of payment, we will pick you up in PMDG's (new-to-us) 744 and fly you to our (also new-to-us) corporate development resort in a nice, tropical beach location and you can hang out with us and relax while we finish development...

Just let me know when the money is sent, and what you'd like for your meal inflight.  We'll get right on it!

Gents-

There will be no special pricing on the PMDG 747-400v2.0.

It will appear in the shopping cart shortly at $350,000,000 per copy, just as the 777 did...  And then we will politely smile and nod when folks email us to ask if that will really be the price.

Indeed...

RE the price, I would hazard a guess that it will be in the 79-99 range. Similar to 777. Just a guess though.

Some folks are just way too 'innocent' . They shoot themselves in the foot before they need to- in fact there's no need to. Yes, business is business; however, when you come out publicly and say things like : " Ohhhhh, no , there will be no discount" "Uhh, I'll be happy to pay as much as needed."  What these things do is simply give the business owner an idea of what could be "acceptable" for many, and if there's enough of the same, then the business goes with it cause they feel, most people will agree.

Look at what Aerosoft what did  their Airbus? It's an outstanding product-  at a reasonable price. And on top, they have included other products at no charge... Should I go back to Mathis and say: "Hey Mathis, you need to charge more for this; it's not worth $50.00. This should easily be $130.00"    Then, I would be just too "innocent"

There is no doubt PMDG is one of the top 4 sim developers in our sim world, and many will say that they will pay any price for it. However, there are others who don't think that way... This brings us to diversity. When waiting for a product- anything (car, house, food, clothes, FSX sim a/c etc.etc), the best thing we can do is listen, watch, and wait. Don't shoot yourselves in the foot... No need to. I am  sure if the developer is wise (which I have no doubt PMDG is), he will charge a reasonable price for his product.   That's it!  Wait !

There you go!. If the customer wants it, and is willing to pay 'anything' for it... then give it to him. (or sell it to him) He'll be happy.

At that price, you'd have enough to bring along all Avsim members for a swim in the beach. And, if you decide you want to save a bit, let the older guys we go on your private jet, and the younger guys go on a UPS  777.

Ricky,

I see your point, but you must also remember that a lot of what goes on around the forums are harmless banter and is all good fun, so don't take everything too seriously either, that is the same as being too innocent  .

Don't worry about the price - PMDG knows what to do to cover their development costs and their prices are pretty much set in any event.   Don't stress about it too much.   There are always some who can pay exorbitant amounts and others who cannot afford to, but PMDG knows this too and will make it affordable for the widest possible audience.   That is also good business sense!

Kind regards

Ricky,

We're not setting prices on the basis of what anyone says in the forum, there's just a wee bit more analysis that goes into it than that.

Why would anyone that bought the 747-8 deserve a discount, solely by the fact that he/she bought the 747-8?

Once upon a time, there was a forum thread

It spoke of pricing hope and dread

Along came a mod who said "no more!"

And left the pilots all so sore.

Then RSR came forth and said

"The V2 is released - please go ahead!"

And then the pilots saw the price

But didn't care - the plane was nice

And so it was told, right from back when...

Don't discuss price, ever again.

The pilots flew far, the pilots flew high

But started to crumble when V3 was nigh...

I would like to nominate Mike for the position of PMDG Poet Laureate.

Cheers!
