What options to train with a Garmin 430 in Prepar 3D?

Recommended Posts

Prepar3D is meant to be a training tool, I want to train to use the Garmin 430 (since I just bought one for my Cessna 182).

So far seems to be X plane 10 and FSX offer better options for training with a Garmin 430 than Prepar 3D

Really I dont want to go back to FSX or X plane 10.

But seems to be the options do far dont work so well in Prepar 3D.

What are the best options?

I was even considering buying one of this.

Garmin has a G430 simulator right on their website that you can download if you're just interested in learning to use the G430. Once you are comfortable then you can jump into using it in the plane.

Don't get the Emuteq as it only supports the RealityXP GNS530 (this can only be used in FSX)

I run the 430 trainer on Win7 - because I still use the RXP 430W which reads from the Garmin trainer. Perhaps I misunderstood you - is there another trainer you're trying to run?

Anyway have you considered the Mindstar GNS430? I believe it may also work in the A2A Skylane though I'm not positive.

Doesn't the Mindstar software work on the Emuteq hardware too?

It can be made to work, yes.

So, basically in P3D there is nothing like RXP for FSX? We are stuck with default GPS?

The Mindstar GNS 430/530 works in P3D. It lacks some of the features of the real deal but is still very functional and the developer is quite active.

Thanks. Can it be integrated easily in aircrafts, like RXP ones?
