B736 Overwing Door Alarm?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have searched this forum to no avail. :(

Just bought the 600-700 Extension and tried it for a short flight.

On my way back to base I noticed a door alarme, look up and saw that the Overwing left and right door where iluminated, check outside doors appeared closed.

Landed, tried to open and close both sides but the alarms light are still on.

I imagine I have the latest updated version since I downloaded it today.

Any Ideas?

Bat, full names in the PMDG forums please.

I've never seen this reported before. Is it possible you have enabled failures?  Yes, PMDG always puts the latest release out there for the downloads.

If you're new to the NGX I recommend the Tutorials.

@ Bat

I have never seen this happen inflight unless "failures" have been set to 'active' in the setup menu!  If it occurs during taxi or flight preparation then it is a real world issue with the NGX models and correctly simulated by PMDG.  It is usually a false alarm that should go away once the aircraft begins to pressurize during takeoff.  It is something to be monitored, however.  If the lights/alarm do not abate during the initial stages of the takeoff roll then the takeoff must be abandoned since it would indicate a serious issue.  Having it occur during flight, however, would constitute a real "failure" warning, possibly a predecessor to loss of pressurization or something more serious.

One of the tests or tricks you can do (if you want) is to stop and set the parking brake during the taxi, bring the power up to around 40% N1, and the warning should clear.  Other then that, it should clear as soon as you advance power during the takeoff.

The OP stated that it occurred during flight not during preparation or taxi.  This is not the same issue at all!
