I had this crash recently! Think its due to MTX, since disabling it i've had no crashes

@Driver 170. If your MyTraffic was ver 5.4c, go back to ver 5.4b. I had ntd.dll errors in both FSX and P3Dv2 with ver 5.4c whereas 5.4b was fine.

Can't go back to 5.4b keep getting a windows deny. I have tried everything! Did your crashes happen randomly?

I do not have My traffic installed. Yes, the first time it crashed randomly when climbing trough FL180. The second time it crashed after 3 hours of flying during cruise.

@Driver170, in case your question was for me - usually crashed on climb out. Prob MTX loading in an incompatible model or something.

Since you do not have MyTrafficX installed, it could be another AI program you are running. If you are not running any addon AI program, then look in the AVSIM CTD Guide near the end where NTDLL.dll crashes are discussed and probable solutions.

Ok no prob! I've disabled MTX 4 days ago and no crashes. The developer is mean't to be working on a new database or something.

Jim off the record, what driver update tool are you using?

I use Driver Genius but also like the freeware one (for a limited time) from Iobit - Advanced System Care.

The d3d9.dll or ntdll.dll is shown as the faulting module in the crash report. This is most likely caused by installation of SweetFX or the ENBSeries Modules

I do not use SweetFX or the ENBSeries Modules.. :)

For about two years I have been struggling with FSX stoppages because of ntdll.dll/c0000005 errors. Despite various mods/tweaks the problem kept reappearing.

Then I came across firehawk44 advice, post 22 December 2012, setting Virtual Memory

to System Managed size instead of Auto.

Now, fingers crossed, I have been flying for several weeks and the problem appears to be solved.

So, thank you, firehawk44.

Best regards,

John
