Noob Seeking Fast Single

Recommended Posts

Forgot to mention, if you remove your civil side by side requirement, take a look at Ant's T-28 series.  The A model is free, the B/C or D models are payware but very reasonable.  The T-28 is a fun military trainer.  If you can fly without a magenta line and enjoy old school avionics, the T-28 is fast, easier to fly than the Mustang and very well simulated.

It's not a true single engine, but due to the front/rear configuration, it feels more like a single engine than a twin, but with twin engine power (especially with the turbo charge tweak), the Carenado Skymaster.

It a very nice and easy to fly aircraft, it's been my favorite, ever since it came out.

And if you want real speed, although it's single pilot aircraft, the civilian P-51 from A2A, with well over 300kts and it's beautifully build and very detailed. Another one of my personal favorites.

Cheers!

Maarten

Thanks to all of the votes for the RealAir Lancair Legacy,

I am revisiting the freeware “FSX Emerald Legacy” that I found earlier, for me it was almost impossible to trim, so I went looking for a parameter to adjust and found “elevator_trim_effectiveness” and changed it from 1.3 to 0.1 and now it is tolerable to fly even fun to fly :)

With all of the recommendations for the RealAir brand I will try out their offering pretty soon.

Thanks and keep those suggestions coming

JD

The Pilatus-P-12 has also been added to my list.

The T-28-Trojan and P-51-Mustang also sound fast and fun, but these are for a different quest.

I really think you'll like it. I've been simming since 1982  ( FS2. God I feel old. Is there any hope for us old folks? LOL) and the RealAir Legacy is the best GA I've ever found.
