fsx-ms Land textures turn into blue squares in FSX! HELP!

I have been having this problem for a while and now I am starting to get fed up with it. The ground textures disappear and turn into blue squares (mostly over water and places near water) and "follows" me around. It starts while I am in the air.

This happened to me, turned out it was an nvidia driver. Admittedly it was a couple of months back. Are you graphics drivers up to date?

Also check if you have the detail1.bmp in your FSX\Scenery\World\Texture folder.

yeah they are

Aside from driver issues it can happen when your over stressing your system, ie. settings to high, LOD range set to high, using HD clouds, etc.
