Using the GTN instead of the default FMC ? You might want this

Recommended Posts

For those who are using the F1 GTN750 (or 650) integrated into the Citation II's MFD (and as a popup), you may be interested in this rather nice blanking plate, to remove the default Carenado FMC :-

Unfortunately, you must own either the Reality XP GNS430 or 530, in order to get this, because the resizeable blanking plate comes with those packages!

If you do own a RXP GNS, and you'd like this blanking plate in your Citation, simply replace your [Vcockpit03] in the Panel.cfg, with the following :-

[Vcockpit03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$Panel_3

//gauge00=FMCC2!FMC_configC2,   0,0,1,1
//gauge01=FMCC2!FMC_UN1VC, 0,0,512, 404
//gauge02=C2CAR!ToggleFMS,        0,0,512,  32
gauge00=rxpGNS!Plate,  0,0,512,404

Happy flying!

Neat idea Craig... here is another version to try..

gauge00=rxpGNS!Plate,  0,1,512,134
gauge01=rxpGNS!Plate,  0,135,512,134
gauge02=rxpGNS!Plate,  0,269,512,134

One more thing you may notice.. the EADI does not indicate HDG, NAV, APR when in GPS mode, it just shows GPS.

This is not very useful, since the EHSI already shows GPS if you have the navsource selected.

I am changing the EADI as we speak... let me know via PM if you would like a copy.

Does anyone who has more knowledge than me in panel.cfg etc know if the following would be possible (having two Reality XP 430W's in the places I marked).

If it is, would someone (Bert??) be kind enough to provide the entry for the panel.cfg to do so :)

Danke!

Yes that's possible - but they'd be 'flat' RXP units (no 3D buttons obviously).

try this James ;-

replace your [Vcockpit03] in the Panel.cfg, with the following :-

[Vcockpit03]

Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0

gauge00=rxpGNS!GNS430,  0,1,512,202
gauge01=rxpGNS!GNS430,  0,203,512,202

Sorry to drag up an old thread. These blanking plates cause FSX-SE to crash for me. Any suggestions how to get round this? I have reality XP installed (even though it doesn't work in FSX-SE) but I get a CTD from the aircraft selection screen.

The RXP gauges do not work in FSX-SE, so the blanking plates will not either.

If you happen to own the Flight1 GTN750 gauge, I can send you a mod for the Citation that should work, including some replacement plates.

PM me with your email address.
