I find myself coming back to FS9 for performance, more and more...

....thus, once again as I've previously stated .... it is impossible to "see" exactly what the textures "look" like from screenshots.  I "bought" FS9EVO based on screenshots.  Then I found out that they were "altered" by sweetfx and/or other coloring agents.  Hence, it really didn't look "good" on my machine.  I don't "color" anything .... and .... I didn't have to with Birds Eye View, GEPro, and that "other" thing that was converted to FS9 which we can't mention ..... all of which "I THINK" look better then EVO when all is compared "in the buff".

Sorry, just have to go with what my mind is telling me ......

So again, depends on set up of display and graphics.
Eggzackly... I do like the look of that set, Jon!

No sim should be without one of the shader modifiers such as SweetFX.

They allow you to tweak the sim to whatever the terrain, climate, or even just your mood, requires.

I reckon any comment about what a texture set looks like, is invalid without accompanying screens.

And, if you flick through some RW air photography portfolios, you will be amazed at the variance of saturation and tone that nature offers.

Some of them you would toss out of the sim as being "unrealistic"!

Hi, I do use Evo without shader and I'm quite satisfied. Screenshots? Look at my Tupolev thread in the Screenshots section of this forum. (I do, however, use a weather add-on.)

And modified by the use of UV, Skylight and Polaroid filters the photographer used, not to mention the brand, speed and type of film stock or (if digital) ASA, compensation and resolution used.  Added factors ...  time of day influences colour temperature and was window tinting present.

In summary ... too many variables to draw meaningful conclusions.

I agree that FS9 EVO offers a valuable enhancement to the FS9 experience.

For those that need / want to customize display of the supplied textures, one can further modify ones graphical rendering of FS via add-ons such as SweetFX and/or manufacturer-supplied or 3rd party video driver control utility GUI dialogs for NVidia and ATI/AMD video cards.
