Water texture looks really bad

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i've installed some addon planes and Rex essential + overdrive.

I've tried changing the texture settings in both rex and prepar3d.

Ideas?

That looks awful! A couple of settings you can try:

- Tesellation: High - Ultra

- Water detail: Ultra

- Mesh resolution: 1M

- Terrain shadow cast distance: 0M

Sadly, this did not help.

I really hope I don't need to install Prepar3D all over again..

Shucks. Can you take a screenshot of the water from a closer perspective Bjerha?

Another thing...have you deleted your shader folder and let it recompile (after you installed the REX textures)?

I'd try running the P3D repair tool (run the installer and it will ask if you want to repair or uninstall P3D). That is certainly not how the water should look.

Looks like lots of oil spills all over.

Does it look like that from 30 meters above the water or only when high up in altitude?

I tried to delete my sheder folder, did not help.

I'll take a new pic asap.

Nope.

  • Aerosoft Airbus series
  • ORBX Norway
  • Aerosoft Innsbruck
  • REX

And that's all - besides a freeware scenery (Norwegian airports).

There is one change I made earlier, and I think it all was good before that; applied the hotfix for the vertical cloud issue. Dunno how to un-do it though, other than doing a full reinstall or repair.

Sure looks like a water setting issue. Did you try resetting everything water or shader related to Default settings?

I did a "repair" today with the installer and it solved my problem. The water was once again fresh and clean. However, later this evening (without any new installs) it turned back as the pictures above.

Sliding the "water" details to off did help. It's all black, but better.

I guess that will have to do.
