REX soft clouds any good for my build?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am currently using REX Essential plus Overdrive as a replacement texture tool for my clouds, water and other stuff, together with FS Global Real Weather. Now I wondered, if the newly released REX soft clouds would

1. work without problems together with my REX Essential plus Overdrive

and 2. give me any performance increase in heavy weather conditions.

I ask this, because I still see a quiet remarkable performace impact when flying through heavy weather, although I already ticked the DX10 box within the REX menue, I already use the smallest possible texture resolution for clouds (512x512) and although I use a properly configured DX10 Fixer (with cloud cull, cloud clip and all other cloud options turned on). I still have troubles getting reasonable FPS when using addon planes like QWSIM in VC during heavy weather conditions (no problem in light weather or sunny conditions, of course).

Does anyone of you experienced similar issues and switched already to REX soft clouds? If yes, what can I expect? Thanks for any hint.

regards

Greetings, Chris

Soft Clouds will work with Essentials . I have it and love it. You can tone your settings down in FSX Settings.
