Extended download services

Recommended Posts

I am actually planning to set a flight club in school, and I saw the extended download services before, where it could save a lot of money without requiring new people coming in and paying 100+ Canadian dollars to buy a PMDG product to fly. But just now, I found out that the extended download services are gone and why? Will the services be back?

Not sure if the licence would allow you to have more than one user/licence to run a flight school in school, i.e multiple users.

You'd better drop PMDG a line and check you do not transgress the EULA terms and conditions.

I agree with what the others said - I think you misinterpreted what the EDS was.

If you are setting up a flight club, I believe every member would have to purchase a copy of the airplane individually.

The EDS was merely a way to download a copy of the installer for your OWN use.

Your license for the NGX is good for one user in a non-commercial environment (i.e. you cannot receive compensation, or give training in the product).

For other uses, see this thread:

If you'd like to discuss commercial use of the product in P3D, contact us at support.precisionmanuals.com.

So if I want to have the product on multiple computers, I need to purchase the product multiple times? And the platform I'm using is FSX. And I also have a question of the licensing when I leave school, where I would uninstall them from the school computers, can I download them somewhere else or maybe just anytime later, since I purchased the product more than once.

Your best bet is to contact PMDG directly via ticket.

The license is on your name for one computer. When you remove it from another computer and you install it then at home on another computer - then it is fine. Because you still use it for yourself on only one computer installed.

As I mentioned earlier, in order to do what I think you want to do, you're going to need to send us a ticket at support.precisionmanuals.com . Please do so.

Your current version of the NGX is:

  • Only valid for use by yourself and not to be shared with others
  • Only valid for your personal use on up to two computers (that you personally use) at a time

In order to do what you want you'll need a commercial/multi-user type license which is not the default license. The standard license cannot be used on a public school computer which can be accessed by hundreds of students.

From the EULA (please note I've only included what is relevant to the OP):

a) One user may use the Software on the Customer's computer where the software was installed; you may use the Software on a second computer so long as only one copy is used at a time and only after having secured a second license permission from PMDG.  You may use the Software on a network ONLY IF each individual accessing the Software through the network has a copy licensed to that individual and installed on the machine from which they are accessing the network; and you may copy the Software for archival purposes, provided the copy contains all of the original Software's proprietary notices.

c) You may use the Software for private entertainment purposes only.

d) You may not use this software to conduct or receive training, aircraft familiarization or other training scenarios without first obtaining a commercial support license from PMDG Simulations, LLC.

f) You may not lease, rent or otherwise charge for any person to use the software, a computer running the software, or a device that uses the software without first obtaining a commercial license from PMDG Simulations, LLC.
