Recommended Posts

hello,

I've put " rate at which weather changes " to never but it's still changing yesterday I flew from Greece to Cyprus with weather set to thunderstorm and rain in Greece.. as I was approaching larnaca I realized that the weather was party cloudy with no rain , how can I solve this ? I want the weather to stay the same during the whole flight

The FSX real weather function has not worked for a long time, Microsofts deal with Jeppesen has expired.

You will need a third party weather engine if you want real time weather, I use ActiveSky Next (ASN) which I believe is the best at the moment

but others will have their favorites such as:

OPUS

FSGlobal Real Weather

Or the freeware offerings

"Real world" weather is usually not going to stay the same for the entire flight, you need to select a weather 'theme' in FSX instead

Just wondering about this myself since its mentioned in another forum that you can use fsx  and it still downloads every 15 minutes the live weather so if Jeppesen deal has expired where is  fsx  getting its live weather updates from?

FSX still gets its weather from Microsoft @ http://fs2k.zone.com/

Unfortunately it seems to be the same metar every time, ie Microsoft are no longer getting updates from Jeppesen

Seattle just now in FSX

Test it tomorrow and see what it gets, I doubt Seattle sees the same weather two days in a row in the realworld.

I have found that the Real Weather in FSX is working fine and is spot on.  Has been for the last

3 or 4 weeks.  I just did Seatac at 4:33 AM and is right on comparing it to the actual weather.

Having been stationed at NAS Whidbey Island for 2 years 1969-1971, I saw the sun maybe

a total of 7 days.  The rest of the time was constant overcast and drizzle.
