NEW MAP ADDRESSES!
 
I accidentally deleted all maps out of my Google Drive folder. I had a panic attack for a minute but all was easily fixed. Here are the new addresses for the maps.

Hi Folks,

 

Hah - nice job and just what I was looking for - I should have looked first... I started an Excel spreadsheet and started doing lookups - I'm about 1/3 of the way through it and then was planning to make a KMZ file... Thanks so much - I can cease and desist - I'll use yours instead... Much appreciated - sir...

 

PS: Why not a single airport in AK ??? No fans of Era ???

Thanks for this, Wolfee. Great tool. Maybe you can get the admin to put this as a sticky or something so we can go there anytime as you seem to be updating it. If we had a version number and a place to get it, that would be great. We could check in every once in a while to see what version is up and download if needed. Thanks for your work.

Good idea Howard, as I have yet another update to them.  I will contact the admin about that.

Freeware Map Update.

I finally got time to go through my freeware map and check it against the PDF's from ORBX.

Please read notes if you are interested.

Links to new KMZ Files and Maps will be at the bottom.

 

Notes:

 

My freeware map contains all airports listed on freeware page, not just the global freeware packs.

 

KSEZ Sedona and KPSP Palm Springs were included in earlier freeware packs. I think they may have been omitted after payware was released for those locations.

I do not show any files for KSEZ in freeware but I do show files for KPSP.

I have decided to leave those on the freeware map for now.

 

Errors in the PDF:

 

The following airports are listed in the PDF twice:

The following typos:

 

KBTH is not an airport - should be KBIH.

KXHD is not an airport - should be KHXD.

BHHH is not an airport - should be BGGH.

 

All 3 correct ICAO's are not on the PDF.

What are KMZ files and what do I need to open them?

KMZ Files show where locations (in this case airports) are from maps.  You can open them in Google Earth simply by double clicking on them - if you have Google Earth installed that is.  Or if you use Plan G (www.Tasoftware.co .uk) while flying, you can open them in Plan G to show locations while flying and also for flight planning.
