I don't think the release of an updated GTN could fairly be called a "dragged out" delay. I'm sure the developer will need a little time to thoroughly test the new version for bugs before making it available. I'm sure they will want to test their update as much as possible before declaring it "good to go". The GTN developers are pretty good about timely updates - it should be along soon.
