SIMPLUGINS DCS P-51D Not working

recently bought and downloaded the simplugins DCS P-51D software.

Followed the installation instruction, according to after DCS world 1.2.13 release.

installed the .net software as required....

Copied the export.lua file to the appropriate folder.

Only getting erratic altimeter (spinning needle) response.

Running DCS World 1.2.14 on a single computer with 2 monitors.

 

anybody any suggestions on how to fix?

I see activity in the show values fields. So there is communication.

I forgot to mention in my original post that I am using Helios for the A-10C module.

So there was already a Script map present in my user\saves games\DCS folder.

The export file that was already there took care of the helios comms for the A-10C I guess.

So when I installed the Export.lua file for the P-51 I renamed the other file into a back-up file.

So should not be cause of the problem, since it is for a different module and does not handle p-51 comms with DCS world.

I can make a video of the comms in the show values fields and send it to you if you like, maybe you can get an idea then what the problem is.

Is there a log file of some sort I can forward you?

I noticed as well.

If you can't support a product, one shouldn't be allowed to sell it, let alone have a public support forum!

This is directed at AVSIM!! Simplugins is ripping people off!!!

Taking money for a piece of crap software!!!

I would like to know why AVSIM keeps supporting this "support" forum... Are they getting a share of the proceeds????

I'm gonna post a topic in hte DCS World forum, with the advise not to buy the DCS p-51 plugins. because it simply does not work. And Simplugins delivers no support.

That might be a bit strong, but I do agree that the level of support is far below what it should be for a $50 payware product.

 

As a result, I don't see simPlugins getting more of my fllightsim dollars.

I have emailed a link to this thread to support@simplugins.com which is a direct link for product support and I will also follow this up. Hopefully Reinhard will come back with a solution very quickly.  Generally he has dealt with all product support issues promptly and fixed problems in the form of updated builds which sometimes takes a little time. He does not rip anyone off, AVSIM are independent and get nothing for supporting this and any of the other forums only revenue from advertising and donations. Tom550 your issue will be dealt with and I will keep you advised.

We have been looking at the problem and yes it does sometimes take a bit longer.

 

We will have a solution for you shortly.

 

We have never ripped anyone off!

 

Our support is very highly rated. Our dedicated support e-mail support@simplugins.com does receive more attention though because of the nature of e-mails in general. The nature of the Avsim forums are more community driven. But that is no excuse. We apologize for any delay in providing a solution.

Just wanted too get your attention, like I mentioned to airernie in a PM.

However If you had mentioned that you are working the problem Or redirected me to above mentioned email adres, I would not have resorted to drastisch remarks.

So thank you for notifying me! Looking forward to the solution and If you would like to see a video of the show values field or a logfile of some sort, I will be most happy to provide it!

Sorry for the late reply on your last post, I am abroad for work and haven't had the opportunity to react.

After I encountered the problem, I went to the FAQ articles and actually read and checked the items that are mentioned in the

article you posted above.

However that was not the problem.

So there is still no solution to the issue.

Are there any other suggestions?

I won't be back home until 2nd week of march, so will not be able to check any solutions on my setup.

Intel 3.5Mhz running at 4.4Mhz.

Win7 pro

AVG security suite 2014

MSI GFORCE GTX580 video card with dual monitor setup.

LAN netwerk with internet 90Mbit/sec, next month upgrade to 120Mbit/sec

In the network I have an apple TV a couple of Ipads and 3 laptops.

Cable TV runs through the lan network, but have been told it runs through a sort of different pipeline.....

Is there any other info you would like to know?

I don't see anything obvious. A single PC installation should just work. Do you have WiFi on this computer?


Can you try and unplug/disconnect the computer from the network and see if this makes any difference? This way we might know if it is a networking issue.

Hi I'm back.

Well finally found some time to take a look at the problem again.

In answer to your questions;

 

No I'm not working with WIFI on my Desktop Gaming computer.

Tried the option to unplug the network cable to see if anything changed, but no change.

I uninstalled DCS world and all components after which I cleaned the register, after that I did a complete new installation of DCS world and all modules.

Including Simplugins software, put the lua file back in it's folder.

However, still only frozen or erratic indications.

I have made short video's of the software while running DCS P-51D. If you like I can mail this to you.

I put a shot of the communication in there as well.

Just let me know what you want to try next.

Ok I guess this is our eureka moment....

Guess the plugin does not understand Dutch..

Switched my keyboard language and system language to English (US) and now it's working like a charm!!

 

Thanks for all the suggestions and not giving up!!

Again my apologies for the strong language at the start of this post, just wanted to get your attention.

From now on nothing but good remarks from my side!!

Small suggestion, make a comment that in order for the plugin to work, one needs to set the language to English or something. If its not already in there..

Saves people a lot of hassle. 

 

I know I will be enjoying my sim experience a lot more now.

Major hurdle in starting to build my own P-51D cockpit!!!

Great. I think the issue is in the lua script for P51D. Panel Builder does work with multiple languages. I'll have a look at this.

Hi,

 

Like I said in  last post comment Panelbuilder works as advertised.

However if I want to join a session in the multiplayer environment, there is no communications between DCS and the DCS Panelbuilder plugin.

So the instruments do not indicate anything.

Any suggestions on what the problem here might be?

I am going to try and setup my own multiplayer session and see if it will work then.

Looks like the lua script is not started during multiplayer sessions.
