How much fun is the NGX?  I absolutely love the T7 and was wondering if it was a worthy addition to my hangar (with FS2Crew of course).

Your 777 is the Cadillac, or Audi S8 or (insert your favorite luxury car) with all the bells and whistles, nice drive over long distances vehicle in your garage.

The NGX is your Volkwagen or (insert your favorite coupe/sedan) without all the bells and whistles (but still has power windows) and is small and nimble and performs well because of its size, yet will get you there.

I have both and enjoy them equally...yet for different reasons.

new purchase, cheap update or free to existing users?

New purchase with a loyalty discount coupon.

I'm re-coding the whole thing to bring it up to the latest standards.

And we're using a different 737NG real-world consultant pilot this time, so there are some big changes with regards to checklists, callouts, procedures, etc.

Anything new added?

Pls see my response to the other guy.

Cheers,

In my estimation, the PMDG NGX is probably the most popular Flight Simulator aircraft ever created based on user numbers.

Everyone loves the 737 because it's so familiar.  It's also a lot less automated than, say, a 777 or Airbus, so it's a bit more fun to fly.

If you like 737s, the PMDG NGX is what you want.  And as you know PMDG is making a new version of the NGX...

Will this new version have more options? I am all for paying for an improved product if it has variations to improve the current product such as:

Options for quicker passenger boarding (business jet models which obviously carry less passengers)

Procedures for single engine taxi

Also maybe different voice choices?

That's a good idea.

Single engine taxi is dicey:  FSX doesn't really allow for it due to the way it models ground friction.

Voices: Everything has to be re-recorded.  We can't use the old sound set... too many changes.

Not sure yet how many will be in the initial release, but EU,AU,US,UK for sure.

Glad you are open to the alternate boarding ideas. I primarily only fly BBJ variations with the NGX these days, and the long noisy passenger boarding throws me off, especially when setting up in a military livery too. It could have an option in the fs2crew cfg panel for full load, half load, or no load boarding options with respective boarding times.

With the voices I just mean like maybe a male and female voice for U.S. to change it up flight to flight.

I agree the single engine can be dicey, but having the option if needed could be nice especially on taxi in. And there are fixes to the friction issue.

Check out my single engine taxi post that is actually quite popular right now on this subject:

If you enjoy the T7 then get the ngx. There is a lot more to do with the ngx in terms of flight prep as the t7 is very automated. PMDG is pushing an ngx update that will give it weather radar etc. I really enjoy flying it and if your doing shorter flights its more realistic to use than the T7 which is long haul.
