Saitek Drivers Install

Recommended Posts

When installing Saitek X52Pro Joystick and Throttle software I have had two Win 7 64 crashes such that I had to reinstall Win 7 completely.  When first plugging in the usb cable from the throttle should I let windows search and install its basic drivers and then get the latest drivers from Saitek and install over.  Or, would it be better to stop the windows basic install and just install the latest from Saitek.

Any advice would be much appreciated as having to keep reinstalling windows is getting a bit much!

I would install the Saitek drivers and then plug in the USB cables. Well, actually, I would install SPAD 5.1 instead but if you are going to use the Saitek drivers, this would the be the order I would recommend.

Cheers!

But, doing it that way is what got me into trouble before.  I had not plugged in the joystick yet and went ahead and tried to install the Saitek drivers.  When prompted to plug in the usb lead I did and thats when the install froze and messed up Windows.  I think that as I had not yet plugged the usb in, Windows, on seeing new hardware tried to install it's basic drivers as it does automatically.  That's when I think the conflict occured.

Does this mean that the Windows auto search and install should be disabled?
