February 24, 201511 yr i got some extra cash and just wondering what is a better airport to purchase? I already have the northern cal and central Rockies installed. I ususaly fly the pmdg 737 so that will be fun flying into Palm Springs. And I fly prop plans once in a while so Lake Tahoe would be nice for that. Which airport is better quality? Seems like Palm Springs you get more square miles of coverage. Thanks I also I am upgrading to a 970 Gtx this week. I will have an i7 930 OCed to 4.0. 12 gb of ram. Do ya guys also use the bufferpool to 0 tweak? Thanks guys Greg Smith
February 24, 201511 yr I have Palm Springs installed and consider it to be the best airport I have purchased. The attention to detail and quality is impressive. Don't have Lake Tahoe. I'm on DX10 with Steve's DX10 fixer so don't use bufferpool 0 tweak.
February 24, 201511 yr I did hours of sight-seeing around KPSP (sort of "VFR geocaching" ). KTVL isn't bad, but KPSP has simply amazed me. What happened to AVSIM
February 25, 201511 yr If you are only buying one, then Palm Springs. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
February 25, 201511 yr Author Thanks guys. I should be Enjoying Palm Springs with my New Gtx 970 soon! Greg Smith
February 25, 201511 yr Its not just the airport. An approach from the NNE crosses over the town which is nicely modeled
February 25, 201511 yr Get both. Each is in a totally different environment. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
February 25, 201511 yr I live near Lake Tahoe in Nor Cal. IMO, KTVL is a poor showing and had I tried before buying I would not have bought. It has a poor Quality:Performance ratio as it were. This IS ONLY MY OPINION, of course. KPSP is excellent in every way...which reminds me I need to get back there. Ever since PMDG T7 w/ FSCaptain and GSX bloomed I forgot how nice KPSP is... March 2, 201511 yr Author Got the kpsp. Very nice lookin. I have done a few rnav landings with the pmdg 737. It was actually a overcast day the other morning with asn. Hopefully it will be sunny most of the time. Greg Smith
