787 overhead crew rest compartment

Recommended Posts

I didn't realize they had one of these on the 787's, pretty cool:

Any indication, what is the front of the plane?  I saw a gray arrow, but is that indicating the front?

From sailing, I learned to never put my head in the front of the berth (towards the bow) so if you hit something that makes you stop, your head won't be the first thing to hit to the bulkhead.   :Black Eye:

I googled '787 cutaway' and it is located just behind the flight deck on some model 787's. It is an option for the long haulers.

From the looks of it their heads are facing to the rear of the aircraft in the berth, and that seat is backward facing. The stairs go down to just behind the flight deck.

Here is a cutaway:

There is also cabin crew rest area in the tail section of the 787.

When Polish LOT received its first 787 I recall both pilots and flight attendants were enthusiastic about those rest areas compared to their previous 767s.

I knew about that but it was not located overhead like on the 787.

The 787 has a six bunk crew rest area in the upper rear aft area. See #44 on the .gif diagram.
