PMDG NGX SP1D removes box around cockpit so shadows work.

Featured Replies

As my NGX is a new install after fully uninstalling  SP1C it has never had the VC model altered by the toolbox.

Just the DX10 settings you see above and the line added to FSX.cfg

Ok, this is my exact same situation.

For uploading video you can use youtube if you have an account or even dropbox if you use it.

I seem to have the same problem, shadows move with my eyepoint, I'm using TrackIR 5 along with EZdok

Are you certain you have got Trueview turned off in the TrackIr software ?

My trueview is ON, not OFF

I know that Ezdok require it OFF, but in the past I forget it ON and seems that it doesn't change anything. Now I'll try to switch it ON/OFF and see what happen and report back.

Perfect, you shadows display correctly. Mine not.

When you were watching left and right shadows were fixed, you were moving your head and shadows were blocked.

Tomorrow I'll make a video with fraps and will show mine, so you can compare.

Thanks so much for now Glynn.

Ezdok 1.1.7.0

TrackIR 5 running  on TrackIR  4.2 build 39 software with TrueView turned off (very important with Ezdok)

Mmmmm.....Steve know that you ask me this I remember that I'm using Ezdok 1.18.5 beta and TrackIR is 5.2.200 build 14548

1) With Trueview OFF nothing change.

2) With TrackIR OFF seems shadows work properly, but I can't change my eyepoint so issue "does not" appear.

I made a video, tomorrow I'll post the pubblic link with my dropbox, it's 896MB so it take a while to sync.

Make sure you have the Force VC Walls option checked then it should work. Also if you use EzDOK check that box as well.

Thanks

Well that sucks so if we use TrackIR then shadows won't work properly in the VC

Tom, shadows appear but they move with your head movement using trackIR.

Who said that ?,

See my (admittedly poor) video for proof , the shadows work perfectly with TrackIR and Ezdok exactly the same as they do with many other aircraft and now with the NGX since Sp1d.

Correct, your configuration is optimal and shadows are fine.

OK I use Gen 4 in the Debug now they work, except I get a pretty good FPS hit...why is that?

Yes, I set Gen 4 shadows too in Debug and now work fine. What's the difference between Gen 4, 5 and 6?

Anyway have the shadows work anyway with Gen 6?
