PMDG 737 NGX: Future Expansions? (ER´s, BBJ...)

Recommended Posts

Dear PMDG,

thank you so much for this outstanding update for our NGX! I know that this question comes a little bit early, but is it possible that you give us some new informations about the future expansion paks like the -ER models of the 737? What about the BBJ´s?

It would be awesome if you´ve got an update for us ;)...!

Have a nice weekend.

A BBJ would fill a much missing gap in the Flight sim world, the long range biz jet.  Due to the extreme complexity of bizjets, as well as some of the legal issues...ie Gulfstream, the BBJ is a very logical choice, given it's similarity to the 737.  It would be the 'easiest' long range bizjet to do for PMDG.  However, 'easy' in addon development should be taken with a grain of salt.   It still require lots of programming and beta testing....time taken away from other projects.  This is something PMDG would have to decide.

Case in point, after the release of their Cherokee 180, A2A had originally planned to do some Cherokee variations such as a Cherokee 235.  However even something as 'simple' as changing the engine would have required a lot of development hours, flight testing, beta testing and so on, it wasn't worth the effort.

Still we can be hopeful that a PMDG BBJ will see the light.  In the meantime, dress up one of the current NGX models with a BBJ scheme and take a couple more fuel stops. :)

Cheers

TJ

I don't represent PMDG, however I believe their primary focus now is the 747v2 and the DC6

Gents-

We are more-or-less constantly chatting about adding this-or-that, but always with an eye toward the primary development agenda.

Chris is correct- as of today our primary development focus is to wrap up the 744 and 748.

Then we will probably take a bit of down time and swing back for an expansion on one of the earlier products.  The 777-200ER comes to mind, as do a couple variations on the 737 theme.

Hard to say what it will be and when...  This entire FSX-SE and P3D cycle has really gotten us off track so our goal for the next couple of months is nothing by 4 engine airplanes.  B)

I would love a BBJ, how difficult would it be, differing weights, aux fuel tanks?

Robert, what would it take to add an antenna array on the roof and a few other smaller bits and pieces on the fuselage to make a Wedgetail? Been desperately waiting for one since the NGX was first released!!!

Robert, wouldn't you give some time or like a survey, to have MD-11 back?

It's an amazing aircraft and just few of them are still flying around, but we have it to fly on Sim, specially on P3D :)

Just wait when the x64 sims are released (X-plane X already) and P3D.... Then it's probably back to the drawing board.

Hi,

would like to +1 this feature request. If there's an opening in your schedules, that's something I'd buy ;)

Yep, or just don't take more than 30 or so pax. Then you can go quite a long way.
