June 10, 200520 yr Hi,I was just wondering if there is a step I am missing when I generate a BGL file in the GA Traffic program. Here are the steps I go through. Could someone tell me if I am doing something wrong, or if there is a step I can leave out? Each time I generate a BGL file the size is different. One time it'll be 37 MB, next time 90 MB, then sometimes 70 MB. I keep generating files until I get one that is between 70-90 MB. Sometimes it can be very frustrating. Any ideas?1. Open all planes, make sure they're all included w/ GA2. Next tab, click on world to open all the airports.3. Next tab, click on collect all airports.4. Next tab, put slider all the way to the right.5. Next tab, go through all the different fees and click on Assign fees to all airports.6. Set date to present day.7. Click on generate.Do I have to click the apply button on each screen? Why do my BGL files always differ in size? Is this because in June the program generates a smaller file because there is less traffic in June, or am I doing something wrong?
June 11, 200520 yr Hi,I believe the amount of traffic will change according to season. But the only thing you really need to check are what aircraft are being used before you compile. You don't want high detail user models for AI traffic. And collect airports only if you have installed a new Afcad.Cheers,Todd
June 12, 200520 yr HiI experienced a similar problem to yours with fluctuating file sizes. Then I found by looking at the GA Traffic folder that there is a "GATraffic.ini" file thereAbout four or five entries down try this:GA_Percentage=70I get about 45Mb for my GA TRaffic bgl with this percentage. Most probably varies according to the number of aircraft and textures you have but at least it gives a consistent result. Simply vary the percentage to suit your needs.CheersMike
June 13, 200520 yr Hi Mike,Thanks for the reply. That line in the GATraffic.ini file is controlled by the slider bar in GATraffic. Mine is already set at 150. When the slider is all the way to the right it's at 150. And when I checked my GATraffic.ini as you suggested, sure enough, it was GA_Percentage=150.So even at 150 my last bgl file was only 37 MB. I think it has something to do w/ the date you generate a bgl file.
