Certain Keys don't work.

Recommended Posts

I think that is because of some other plugin that it is trapping the lowercase L

I could not use "l"  i had to use SHIFT+l = "L".

I use " ` "  this for Toggle Who's Online.

Next I connected, then from XSBox menu, check whos on line from the menu .. all I got was a black narrow .. looks like the black data entry bar .. in the middle of my screen.

Did you ever find out which plugin caused your "L" problem?

My whos on line is defined as CLEAR ...??

You can use NOAA weather engine.

I feel it is XPrealwx causing that

Nah no one.

But eventually will.

This should be actually forwarded to FSRealWX developer.

But it is working for you so enjoy :)

"This should be actually forwarded to FSRealWX developer."

Ok, I will do that. Refer him to this post.

I added the plugin to test rain effects using FSRealWx .........

I have done limited testing of FSrealWx for a year or so now (FS9/FSX/P3D/Xplane) ... it has had many problems but is getting better.

Now we just need to find out How a key is causing this problem ........ and possibly other Unresolved mystery problems in Xplane ...

The FSRealWx needs to get this fixed asap IMO.

Thanks for helping me.

If I get any info I will post it here.

I am using NOAA for weather now.

I think NOAA does have precipitation

Yeah that would be great if you get some findings.

FWIW, I'm using XPRealWX because I can't get NOAA to show up in my plug-in menu.  No problems with XPRealWX, however.

One other thought that crosses my mind - I have a programmable keyboard that can be remapped with some obscure combination of keypresses that I haven't bothered to learn or remember.  I did not load the special keyboard interface software that came with the mouse/keyboard, but if you are using a special software gaming interface, you might see if there is something in that which will tell you what might have inadvertently mapped to the "L" key.  There may also be a keyboard reset available.  Just an idea ....

Ok,

What do  i do to use NOAA in XSBox?

.. I just started setting up XSBox ..

""This should be actually forwarded to FSRealWX developer.""

It is in his forum now ... linked back here to your post.

What I need to know is how any keys (events) can be trapped by one plugin ... thus ... messing up other aps plugin?

@mdavis

I am using a plain logitech keyboard. But even on the laptop it was the same issue. Those plugins removed and the keys worked.

You can use the Net Install from NOAA.

"No problems with XPRealWX, however."

Have you tested by using the "l" key in the XSBox connect screen (name field) as per screenshots (post #9) in this thread? .. as a test?

"You can use the Net Install from NOAA."

Like this one possibly?:

Yes, I originally tried just the zip file - followed instructions (not clear at one point) and tried several things.  I then ran the NetInstall and I have already installed and run several related plug-ins - and the Field Services and JoyMap both show up in my plug in menu but not NOAA for some reason.  Field services uses the same stuff, so why NOAA doesn't show up is a mystery.  Verified location within folders - no joy.  All other plug ins show and work fine.

Not a big deal because XPRealWX is working OK for me.  I wonder if I uninstalled that, the NOAA might show up.  I'll try removing it and see ...
