Caribbean Holiday. The Mustique Mystique

Caribbean Holiday. The Mustique Mystique

The last two weeks we have traveled from San Juan through the Virgin Islands, Sint Maarten, Saint Barthélemy and Saba. Then St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Dominica and Martinique. Now we shall continue down the Antilles. Rum shops, cricket ovals, luxury resorts and always bright sunshine and crystalline blue waters. Someone has to do this job.

Aircraft.

Something that would be suitable for a Caribbean vacation. This week we fly two different types. First, pick a fast General Aviation aircraft such as a Lancair IVP, Beech Duke or Duke Turbine, Cessna 340 or 404, Pilatus PC12, Beech King Air, Aero/Rockwell Turbo Commander, Epic LT, Piaggio P180 or similar. Perhaps the classic Spartan Executive. Then we go low and slow through the Grenadines. Perhaps the BN Islander or DHC-6 Twin Otter one the one hand, or a Cessna 182 or Beech Bonanza, or anything with a speed between 120 and 170kts. Whatever you please.

The Route.

Day Three. We head further south. Beginning in a fast GA aircraft, we fly from Martinique (TFFF) to scenic Castries, Saint Lucia (TLPC), to Barbados (TBPB), and then to Kingstown, Saint Vincent (TVSV). At Kingstown, we switch to a "low and slow" aircraft for the Grenadines. We shall visit charming Bequia (TVSB), the fabulous homes of the globe's wealthiest citizens on private Mustique (TVSM), the exclusive resort hotels and golf on Canouan (TVSC), the more friendly Union Island (TVSU), the 100 rum shops of Carriacou (TGPZ) and then St. George's, Grenada (TGPY).

We may add on Tobago (TTCP) and Trinidad (TTPP) if we want. The idea is to fly along and have a good time. So the full route will arrive as we fly it!

Scenery Suggestions.

We strongly recommend that you install a scenery upgrade for the Grenadines (for Day Three) over which we shall linger. There is a good freeware and an excellent payware available. Details about these and other recommended Antilles sceneries (freeware and payware) are available. For the scenery information, and the flight plan, download the updated package HERE.

And later we shall post a narrative for your non-reading pleasure.

The event will recommence on Saturday, March 14, at 1900 UTC. (Take care to note that much of North America is on Daylight Savings Time.) To help others "see" your aircraft, please enter your aircraft information in Roman's Multiplayer Aircraft Alias spreadsheet here.

I was going to call the next leg 'Caribbean Holiday, The tan deepens' but Mustique Mystique is more poetic.

Looks like a fun trip.

I also know there are issues with Paul Wheelers Striking Software - his 5 Caribbean Islands sets.  I cant recall the details but there can be conflicts with adding all these airstrips along with Paul's stuff.

We were saying on TS how good it would be if Orbx made the whole of the Caribbean as a region. It was unanimous, we'd all buy in a heartbeat!

Yes agreed! Especially with or included Cuba, Jamaica, DR and Haiti.  Ive had to cobble together bits and pieces to make it a fun place to fly around in.

I do the 'Caribbean run quite regularly!  It really renders out nicely in FSX and P3D.

3rdP stuff; scenery and airports, REX 4 Direct for reefs, and shallows...etc.  Now, great ship A.I. out upon that ocean!

Again...a great area to fly over...

Nice flying guys!

I personally LOVE the FlyTampa Grenadines package;  love flying between those airfields, and the fact that it's not far from FlyTampa St. Maarten, St Barts and Saba, makes it even better

Mostly likely not.  Wifee is off work, grandkids will be visiting, I will likely go golfing to get back in the swing of it. Heading down to San Diego in two weeks so want to loosen up the golf swing before heading out.

Recommended Cocktail of the Day: Tequila Sunrise

As we will be flying through the Grenadines, it just has to involve Grenadine.  So what better than one of the classic cocktails in which Grenadine is a key ingredient for both flavour and colour.

Tequila 1 measure

Orange juice 2 measures

Shake with ice

Pour over ice in a glass

Slowly add 2 tsp Grenadine

Gently stir once only for the full effect

Enjoy! (and hope for no turbulence...)
