Lights in P3D

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I sometimes come across what can only be described as 'blobby' lights in P3D - over exposed halo.  Are there any light replacement packages that anyone can recommend for P3D?  I remember using UTX light replacement in FSX (I think it was UTX) and they were pretty good - but that was a while ago.

Hi Erich

I add these 4 lines to the Prepar3D cfg file

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.4 //scales edge,center,end,touchdown,runways
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.4 //scales VASI lights)
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.4 //scales approach light bars
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.4 //scales RAILs and ODALs)

They need to be pasted after the bottom of entry of  [Display]

Make sure you save the changes when you exit the cfg file

Those lights you are familiar with from fsx days is going to be made for P3D for a small fee I think or free if you own UTX V2 cant remember which but did read this at simforums by developer

Pedro, it makes no difference at all, the // means everything after is a 'comment' to remind you of what the param does! :ph34r:

Nope, that has nothing to do with HDR. Those entries simply make the ground lights at the airport smaller, hence less bright.
