March 17th for Titan X ...

Recommended Posts

Just in case anyone is interested (I know I'll get one as soon as possible for the HDMI 2.0 support).

My other source indicates this is pretty accurate release date, maybe even a tad earlier -- so expect a new set of nVidia drivers to come out very soon also.

Cheers, Rob.

EDIT: I will have 2 Titan Blacks up for sale ($500 each if anyone is interested PM me) - pending release/availability of Titan X.

Great news. And $500 is a fair price for the Titan Black, especially coming from a trusted member of the community.

Thanks Rob.

I saw some benchmarks. While it was from a reliable source. I am happy with my SLI 780's. OC'd beyond 780ti specs. While it doesn't have anywhere near the VRAM, it still tops it in benchmarks. :)

That card is the beast!  Seems these ultra-class cards always sell out within minutes upon launch.  Best of luck with getting one.  Imagine P3D if it supported 4-way SLI with these cards.

Wow! I upgraded from a 660ti to a 970 a few months back and I'm really happy. (980 was out of my price range)

I'm not really 'on the pulse' when it comes to hardware but the Titan X comes with 12GB? That's insane!!   But is it really 12GB or is it nvidia's version of "12GB" ;) Just kidding!

AMD R9 390X will smash the Titan X even with 4GB Vram. Maybe it will have 8GB Vram too.

Judging by these apparently 'leaked' benchmarks, I think 'smash' is overestimating a little..

That seems to be low of a price for those Titans Rob - I wont be selling my titan for that price

If you can even find one the lowest I have found it for is 850$ used fyi

But like every other AMD card it will run FSX/P3D worse than Nvidia

Thats why folks here like Nvidia, if AMD cards did better in FSX/P3D we would all be buying them, I doubt any of us are Nvidia fan boys, we just want the best performer for the Sim whoever that comes from.

4GB VRAM will not cut it for my 4K res needs ... but if AMD do release a 8GB variant and it proves to be better in P3D then I'll buy one and sell my Titan X (whenever that happens).

Unfortunately most of the benchmarks listed for GPUs don't translate at all to how well they will perform in P3D.  How well the GPUs do in Assassin's Creed, CoD, 3DBenchMark, etc. etc. is irrelevant for me ... what can it do in P3D and how smooth can it do it in P3D is all I really care about.

Cheers, Rob.

Why is this community addicted to Nvidia Titans?

AMD R9 390X will smash the Titan X even with 4GB Vram. Maybe it will have 8GB Vram too.

http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphics/37258-fiji-radeon-390x-comes-with-8gb

It's not so much the Titans but Nvidia cards in general one day using SLI to some benefit in P3D.

The R390x could change things though if it's really that good with P3D.

Here's an English version:

http://wccftech.com/amd-r9-390x-nvidia-gtx-980ti-titanx-benchmarks/

At the bottom of the page they are speculating an R390x price of half the Titan.

Thanks, my retail source indicated today ... but as of now, looks 347.88 drivers just got released for the Titan X, so I would assume it's safe to say the card will follow shortly.

Time to schedule some "Add to Cart" scripts and see who wins the battle of bandwidth :)

Cheers, Rob.
