The Dollar is close to matching the EURO!

I have noticed a bit about the concept of China buying everything. Happens in more places then just the USA. Reality is China is buying up about as much around the world as any other country is.

New Zealand buys up property around Louisiana for cheap and develops it for future residential, no one complains about that

Canada Pension Plan buys up many airports around the world including some major European ones and no one complains about that.

China buys up farms in New Zealand and everyone goes crazy, or buys assets in the USA and people complain about that.

Reality is we are all buying offshore investments and every nation gets there fair share of it. There is benefit to it because places like Louisiana or Detroit will prosper over time due to the mix of foreign investors because lets face it, the American's aren't investing in those places because they prefer to invest overseas as well.

I have been to 5 good-bye parties in the past year from people from New Zealand moving to China for good opportunities. 3 were engineers and 2 were in business and trade. Beijing has become a mix of people from around the world going there for better opportunities. No one complains about that either. This is just the world as we move forward and China is just becoming a part of that.

New Zealand just has to learn to stop taking car keys away from them because that is just wrong:

This is good news for me. US military member stationed in Germany, I get paid in USD but have to buy a lot of my things with euro and it really hurts with that 19% VAT.

This is another myth that suggest China "owns" US, in fact China owns only about 8% of US debt. Nothing scary for sure.

But it is like 1.4 trillion. I wouldn't call them an ally yet. Hopefully we won't let them build our military jets. (sarcasm)

As an investor....should I buy Euros?  Might be a great investment if it goes up again.  Right?  Heard that Giselle, Tom Brady's wife (New England Patriots quarterback) is buying Euros like they're going out of style!

I would. It is the same reason why Australia/New Zealand was buying land in Louisiana and Detroit...etc.

When the US dollar went up you got a return in your investment, as well over time that land value in those areas will sky rocket as they are redeveloped. So for now their was already a return due to the dollar change even before the land value started to increase, but now a stronger US economy will kick start that too so it is like a double return in your investment.

An American investing in America doesn't get the same return as they depend 100% on the land increase but the foreign investor gets a much better return. So this is why they don't buy in places like Louisiana or Detroit, it is better off in overseas investments as well.

Not sure what is good investment in EU but Greece seems to be an area of growth perhaps.

Might be a great investment if it goes up again.

It isn't investment, it's a speculation, like with every other commodity, prepare to lose money.

If you are betting on Euro you are betting that European economy will rebound - that isn't what The Economist predicts, not in the near future, there is even a recent article about "Europe's dismal prospects". But if you believe otherwise - go ahead.

Whoah, I haven't checked the currencies in a long time. It looks like I'm never going to buy any add-on at full-price from now on.

Perhaps surprising only to some 'imminent economic collapse' idiots on internet paddling gold/silver coins to gullible investors.

Time to dump Euro for Dollars, maybe not, as currencies always go up and down. Canada was dirt cheap in 90s from Minnesota could buy sluplee and dorotios cheap only item cost more at the time as gasoline at 58 cents a liter in Thunder Bay. The loonie was worth 65 US cents at the time, but 2010 the loonie was worth more than our dollar they visited Mall of America on days off. Sure Greece and Portaugal and Spain benefit from cheaper Euro the Germans probably not so happy about it.

The US dollar, the Euro, the Canadian dollar is just fiat currency backed by nothing.  What is money, what is currency and what is debt?

The question Americans, Canadians, and other Western countries that are controlled by the International bank of settlements and IMF is this:

Why does your Government, which is authorized by its constitution to create and issue interest-free money, instead, borrows that money at interest from a privately owned central bank?

This is why all Western nations are in debt, and will always be in debt, it's how the bankers designed it.

Our banking system is a ponzi scheme used to steal the wealth from you the people and plunge future generations into debt slavery.  The truth is, currency is created by debt, and then you're
charged interested on it.  Europe is now entering negative interest rates and The FED can never and will never raise interest rates.

The reason the USD is strong is because
1.  it’s the Reserve Currency of the world.
2.  Because of the Petrodollar deal.

In order for nations to trade, other nations must first convert their currency to USD for that trade.
This is why other nations hold so much US debt. This is changing very fast now.

Preparing for the collapse of the petrodollar and the Reserve Currency.

Greece is the first nation to start collapsing under the weight of debt.
It they exit the Eurozone they will default on their debt and all those derivatives out there could collapse many banks around the world.

Congratulations to the people of Greece and saying NO to the corrupt banking cartel.

The Bank of International settlements and the International Monetary fund (IMF) enslave all people in Western nations with debt.  This debt based banking system we live in, was designed to make the bankers rich, by enslaving your nation with debt.  Greece was just the first nation to collapse under this debt based system and Puerto Rico may be next.  (See the links above to learn about the Western monetary system).

Greece should now do what Iceland did, and throw the bankers in jail.  (Iceland convicts bad bankers and says other nations can act)

The fight in Canada to free its people from this banking ponzi scheme has started...

Comer vs Bank of Canada.   Canadians, you should watch this.
Let's hope Canadian's can return their Central bank, back to the people of Canada and say NO to the IMF.

Maybe one day, the people of the USA can free themselves from The Federal Reserve (a privately owned bank, which has enslaved their people since 1913).

###### me this got deep. The euro makes sense for a big mass of land with lots of countries. I can travel from Amsterdam to Paris, to Milan without passport checks or money changing. It's great. I don't mind me being English and having the Pound, we are separate by water from the landmass. But, for the continent it makes perfect sense. It's fantastic travelling through Europe without passport checks

Individuals tend to seek consistency in their beliefs and perceptions.

Cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values.  Cognitive dissonance can often have a powerful influence on one's behaviors and actions.  Victims of Cognitive dissonance will often become abusive and angry, lashing out verbally when their world view is jeopardized.

Truth often hurts, so lies are more easily accepted as truth.
