Something about e-commerce account?

You can download an updated installer file from your Account at PMDG under your Previous Orders tab. Simply select the product (your original NGX order) and download the new installer.  Once you have the new installer,  uninstall your current aircraft and then run the updated installer and you should be all set.  Let us know if you need further assistance.

I bought a boxed version of 737NGX from a 3rd party on ebay

From RSR's post:

"Unfortunately this does servce as a bit of a knee-knocker for our customers on DVD and who have downloaded via Aerosoft- but we anticipate that by next week we will have the final details ironed out with Aerosoft to get you all taken care of. Give us just a bit more patience and we will publish the information you need to update your DVD or Aerosoft download version."

(Aerosoft is who distributes the DVDs to other parties as well, so if you didn't buy it from them directly, this still applies.)
