FAA Grants Amazon Experimental Airworthiness Certificate

It will open up a new field for those with flight sim experience... delivering packages.

Must have a private pilot's certificate.  The pilot must also have continuous line of sight with the aircraft.  Do not understand how useful that will be as there are many tall buildings in neighborhoods, etc.  Maybe erect a 400 foot control tower in every neighborhood so the pilot(s) can have continuous visual contact?  I do not think so.  But, we will see!

Operator has to have PPL and Medical? Okay...

 

Actually, maybe the FAA should require that for all unmanned vehicles...

 

...including those pesky drones! :LMAO:

The part about the pilot having continuous line of sight with the drone makes no sense.  If you have to follow the drone in a ground vehicle, wouldn't it be just as easy to put the package in that vehicle and deliver it?  And if you are following in a vehicle, it would be a two person job, one to fly the drone and the other to drive the vehicle.  It makes no sense, but then again, it is our government. :rolleyes:
