Is HIGHMEMFIX=1 Needed in Prepar3D?

Recommended Posts

This was needed in FSX.cfg.  Is it needed in Prepar3D?

Thanks.

In fact you really shouldn't have to touch cfg file at all - unlike fsx

yup, biggest mistake new users make is to install and then add all the old FSX tweaks. P3D is NOT FSX - many changes have been made and many of the old tweaks are built in.

Leave the cfg alone with exception POSSIBLY of FFTF and/or AM.

I agree with two exceptions, the optimize_parts and optimize_clouds settings.

Yes optimize_parts for sure but optimize_clouds caused fps loss here

I went to the FS Dreamteam settings menu and clicked 'save', but it looks like it modified my prepared.cfg. I can see the highmemfix=1. Should i delete this line...?

I would remove it but try it with and without and see if you notice a difference
