Getting VAS relief by disabling RAAS

Recommended Posts

Hi Bryan,

With P3D2.5 installed, I am having problems getting sufficient VAS to cope with detailed airports.

Is it possible to disable RAAS within PMDG777? How can this be achieved? How much VAS relief will be gained?

Cheers, Richard

Airline option in the Equipment menu.

I faintly remember the VAS relief is somewhere under 200 MB, so still an option that should be considered when VAS management is necessary.

I prefer reducing AI traffic and autogen density, and switching off photoscenery via the Scenery Config Editor, though.

Where will I find my dll.xml?

C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX. Or type %appdata% in the explorer navigation bar then browse to Microsoft\FSX from there.

Find the section for the RAAS module in the dll.xml file and change this line from:

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

to:

<Disabled>True</Disabled>

"How to find (...)":

EDIT:

If you disable RAAS in the dll.xml, it will be disabled for   a l l   your aircraft (in case you have the full version of RAAS).
