It is indeed a pleasure to announce AVSIM's 18th Birthday today. We have had our share of sad news this last week, but with the bad also comes the good. 18 years! Happy Birthday to AVSIM and all of our community members! Please head out today and celebrate in your traditional fashion!

Happy Birthday to the best flightsim community watering hole there is!

 

I've literally been here almost the since the very beginning when I was looking for some FS5 downloads on Mike Marando's FS download site...flashback! http://www.avsim.com/pages/dec-95.htm, using Netscape of course and downloading to my Prodigy email account!

 

Thanks for the years (decades!) of camaraderie, learning and downloads Avsim! 

 

I marvel at how far we've come when I look at this file from the link above:

 

747-4PNL.ZIP (v1.2) (63k) by Doug Stracner (Freeware) BOEING 747-400 "COCKPIT" FOR FS 5.1.

Flight Shop REQUIRED for use.

 

63k for an entire 747 panel!   I've heard rumors that the PMDG 747v2 panel is going to be slightly larger. :LMAO:  

 

Folks we have 4x more memory in our CPU L2 cache than that entire panel!  Amazing.
