Yes i would say so  Carlo. I did wonder why you got the drops untill i read...

"5910x1080 in NVidia Surround + a fourth monitor for 2D pop-up gauges"

very nice :)

That's my setup for the NGX:

I like it much better than a large 4K screen as I have a much better outside view with the triple monitor setup. But that's just my personal preference...

Looking good! :good:

And as I have stated above: Even such a demanding setup is perfectly usable with the NGX in Prepar3d! With the right settings the NGX in Prepar3d is a joy. With a 4790K and a GTX970 you can definitely get very good performance in the NGX in Prepar3d.

Love the lower screen :wink:

Yeah, the lower screen is very useful. Without it, the perspective is very strange as one has to zoom out quite far to see the PFD and ND. Especially in the NGX this is a problem because PFD and ND are placed quite low (less of a problem e.g. in the Aerosoft Airbus). With the lower screen you can zoom to 0.9 or even 1.0 zoom factor (which gives the most realistic perspective) and you have a great outside view. And the 2D pop-ups lead to no fps hit in the NGX which is nice...

Could not agree more and that's why I have a 24" below my 28" but am sure you have seen a picture of that.

Its another reason I don't like flying the airbus...lack of pop up PFD/ND

But there is a workaround how you get 2D pop-ups in the Airbus as well. It was first discovered by someone else for the Airbus Extended and I posted over at the Aerosoft forum how to use it for the new versions. See here:

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/89973-using-multiple-monitors/

But there are some restrictions with the ND, like the inability to resize it. But it works. Better than nothing...

I tried running it on my system using the PMDG B777 at flytampa CYYZ and it OOM on the ground while panning outside.

4790K at 4.8Ghz HT on! GTX 980.

AF=244

FFTF=0.01

ASN

Flytampa CYYZ

REX4 textures

Rob Ainscough Medium settings. 2560x1440 single screen. I didn't even bother counting the FPS because getting the OOM was extremely annoying so I stopped and went back to FSX until this ends for good(new platform or some major real improvements) It's 2015 and still we cannot use the full potential of our hardware as other games can.

When I have a lot of time to spare perhaps I will go back and try it again.

cheers

Very nice Carlo,

Is that a 4that a 4thmonitor you use for the PFD and ND. And yes it's such a shame the A320 doesn't support the 2D pop ups out of the box. I too got tired with the "freezes"

Yes. It's a fourth 19 inch monitor. All 4 monitors are connected to my single GTX 780. Works very nice. If the plane has proper 2D pop-ups. For me, 2D pop-ups are just a must for serious simming.

hey guys sorry to bump a old thread but since its on the same subject.

so i gave p3d a try and the performance is just ridiculous with 3rd party a/c ngx for example

i even lowered all the settings but same performance.

i tried xplane 10 demo and it runs like a dream.

my system specs:-

intel core i5 6400 skylake quad core @ 2.70 (did not OC it yet)

Asus z170-p intel ddr4 atx motherboard

Asus STRIX nvidia geforce gtx 970 4gb gddr5 Oc edition

HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB DDR3 PC 1600MHz memory

EVGA SuperNOVA 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply
