April 3, 201511 yr Way faster than I thought they'd be...PCIe SSDs are next on the upgrade list, right after the curved monitor (just finished the X99 build this week, and the latest F8 bios supports NVMe...woot)! Hothardware just did a good writeup on the NVMe as well, and it blew everything out of the water.
April 3, 201511 yr Yeah PCIe SSDs are much much faster than any SATA SSD. The upgrade path can be restrictive though, you need a motherboard with the extra slot(s) and stuff like that. But if you've got it, the performance is unreal.
