Ed, very fine pictures. Looking forward to the video.

How about continuing with a Turkish Airlines flight TK0382 to Tbilisi, after you recovered from taking this video?

There will soon be new pictures from the Tu-134 flying at the other side of the world.

Happy to do the route in an IL-76.

Hi Ed,

many thanks! I enjoyed the video very much.

When I watched it, I felt the need for a good LTBA scenery the more painfully.

Did you perform a particular good landing or did you have a load of hillbillies (don't know the appropriate Russian word) to fly who applaude at every approach?

If you continue to TBS in an Il-76, that will be even more welcome!

Have a nice weekend!

Harald

Thankyou for your kind comment. :)

I made a request at T2G's forums.

The usual greaser.  B)

No, a button in the cockpit that provides canned clapping. :Applause:

I have planned the route…a MOPIN 1A rwy 17R dep and an ILS rwy 31L via OBORA arrival (so we get to see the Tbilisi TV tower)

31L via BAGEM should have also done! ^_^

Written the ILS Rwy 31L approach with an OBORA transition. FSATC all the way!

Oh yes, that's quite the route I travelled in real world two times. You will at first see the TV tower left hand, then make the turn quite above the devastated industry area of Rustavi. I whish you fine wheather, as you may have a magnificent view onto the whole western Caucasus chain before approach then. All that is very picturesque. Looking forward to follow your approach; being extremely curious where it goes exactly!

P.S. Would you be so kind to share the approach file after flying it? I'd like to use it for a flight with my Tu-134 to TBS to spent her a new paint...

Thanks and regards from Dresden/Bogotá,

Harald

Will do Harald, I will add the BAGEM and LAMUS transitions as well.

I have tested the OBORA Rwy 31L arrival….it worked perfectly.

FS ATC cleared me for an ILS rwy 31L approach via OBORA, descend to 4500 ft until established….contact tower once inbound. :)

The weather looked nice …but there was quite a crosswind element!.

Dzalian lamazi, didi gmadlobt, as Georgians would say!

(Very nice, many thanks)

In the first picture, you are just above the B&B where I used to stay when being there; and I hear your engines roaring.

In my real world journey LTBA-UGTB, the plane seems to have taken a wider circle around the City, one that may be approximately indicated in the map as that "13.9 DME Arc TBS" coming from wpt BAGEM indeed. Will search some pictures for comparison. And UGTB will be my first aim with the Tu-134 after coming home from the world journey (hope to do it until May 26th, for the annual Independence day military parade in Tbilisi). Meanwhile we have to take attention that the thread won't be moved into the screenshot section!

I was afraid you might say that. You are quite right the BAGEM transition would be the choice coming directly from the west but I want to overfly the TV tower (I did spend some hours trying to get a light show going at the tower but it proved to be too much work so it just has one at the top) so I will use OBORA.

I've had a go at writing the DME Arc for you (not tested yet)…..they are pretty tricky to write.

Again, very noble of you. If it is too complicated, no problem. The usual approach procedure of stock ATC seems to be similar to the DME Arc, so it's indeedperhaps more useful to have the "normal" transitions.

Here are some pictures, just for you to have an imagination of the real thing. Do you find the TV-tower?
