April 6, 201511 yr I was looking to buy a dedicated P3D PC. Having trawled this forum the i7 4790k and the GTX 970 4GB seem to hit the sweet spot on price/performance, plus an SSD to increase loading speed. I saw this on uk ebay for £1079, which seems to have all the basics, at a reasonable price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Z97X-Intel-i7-4790K-240GB-SSD-2TB-16GB-970-GTX-4gb-Windows7-8-Gaming-Pc-Computer-/161090412671 Agreed, not the fastest memory, or most powerful power supply - but do you think it might do the job, or are there serious flaws somewhere? I was hoping to overclock it, would the EasyTune App that comes with it allow a non techy guy like myself overclock, or could I simply have the turbo boost to 4.4Ghz running all the time, or is it a"demand" function? This is the spec: Intel Core i7 4790K 4GHz TURBO 4.4 GHZ Quad Core Processor 16GB Memory DDR3 1866 Mhz Corsair/Kingston 2000GB SATA 3 hard drive + 240 GB Sata SSD NVIDIA GEFORCE 970 GTX 4GB DDR5 Graphics card Gigabyte Z97X GAMING 3 USB 3.0 motherboard SLi AND CROSSFIRE READY 24 Speed DVD-RW Dual Layer Multi-Format 300mbps Wireless N Adapter Stylish ZALMAN Z11 PLUS USB 3 CASE 600 Watt COOLERMASTER Gaming Power Supply Unit Windows 7 64 bit OR Windows 8.1 Licensed and configured and ready to go As you can probably tell I'm meddling in things I don't really understand, advice much appreciated! Eugene
April 6, 201511 yr Looks decent enough, but I don't think I'd be wanting to drop £1100 to some faceless company on Ebay who probably won't be around in 6 months if you have any problems P3D v4.5 MSFS2020 Hisense 50" 4K TV Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm 2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive. April 6, 201511 yr I too would be troubled by purchasing a PC through eBay unless you could afford to write it off if anything went wrong. I know that many PC component manufacturers will not honour warranties for items purchased from eBay so if the company you bought the PC from disappeared you would have little chance of resolving a hardware problem if one arose. /Edit: - I don't see any reference to a CPU cooler on the specs for that machine so you would need to figure in some extra cash to upgrade from the stock cooler if you want to overclock at all, the stock cooler is not very good and can just about cope with standard speeds.

They've shipped around 25 gaming PC's in the last month, and have been around for 2 years, with 100% positive feedback for the last 12 months on around 400 items, which I know is meaningless if I end up with a dud.... Warranties on PC's have always been a bit of a minefield. Great if it's something straightforward - dead on arrival - boot up post screen says the graphics card is a dud - but for the more subtle problems - can be very difficult to trace the culprit - plus for many machines the warranty goes as soon as the machine is opened up - usually day 1 for me! They also accept "best offers" - so a few more pounds to be saved, and postage is free. I've looked at a youtube video re easytune, looks pretty simple to do some basic overclocking, all in all reckon it might be worth a punt... Thanks for your input, Eugene
