DX10 Scenery Fixer with Extended Display

Recommended Posts

Would apprecaite it if someone could clarify the situation when using the DX10 Fixer with Extended Displays. I have a Win7/64 system with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 GPU which has multiple outputs. I use the extended (second) display for charts, etc.

Does the Fixer not work at all with extended displays, or is it just less effective with extended displays, or does it only work if FSX is running on the display identifierd as the Main display, or ...?

Thanks,

Al

The fixer itself has nothing to do with multiple displays or any control over it. Whatever works (or not) in dx10 preview mode will behave the same with the fixer.

Fsx in dx10 mode doesn't work at all with multiple GPUs

Fsx in dx10 works fine with multiple displays combined into one wide display by the Gpu as FSX is unaware of this

Fsx in dx10 mode generally works with multiple displays but there are some tricks, oddities and variations especially around aa , vsync and diffent monitor sizes.

The best think to do is download the dx10 how to guide from nzfsim and experiment with your setup in dx10 mode preview mode ( ignoring the flashing runways)

Just as a quick update on extended displays, I have found that the DX10 Scenery Fixer does not work, or does not work well, unless FSX is running on the monitor designated as the MAIN display. I don't know why this is, and it could be specific to my system (Win7/64,  Nvidia GTX 660, 3 displays), but thought I'd pass it on. I couldn't figure out why I was infrequently having shimmering and flashing problems, and finally realized it had to do with whether or not FSX was running on the MAIN display. I use the other displays for approach plates, Plan-G, SkyVector, etc.
