ACARS SDK Kit?

Recommended Posts

Any possibility of this in the future? There is a few "good" ACARS units out there now for use by Virtual Airlines. I am experimenting with one for an airline I am assisting to bring back from the dead. We're close to having the ACARS working, of course via a 3rd party running program.

My question is, would it be possible, at some point, to have this actually work from inside the PMDG's FMC units?

I'd LOVE to see this.

I make no promises, but this is something we've been looking into this.

i think you PMDG should possibly make the acars now active with flightaware and ASN, so we dont have to look back at ASN or flightware to check what route we should take.

Not sure I follow what you're trying to say here. FlightAware would obviously give someone a good idea for a route, but it would only be capable of doing so in the United States and very limited other areas. ASN isn't a program that people should be using for routes. If you're referring to weather fetching, it might be better to pull from a website like AviationWeather.gov so that everyone is covered without needing to buy something else.

I know that last part seems a bit odd because ASN is required for the weather radar, but at the moment, that's the only one that was up to our standards in providing the weather data. There's no other source that does that.
