Installation Process

Hello everyone,

 

So, I have purchased the Mind Star GNS 430/530 yesterday.

Now, two questions.

 

1. Does it not have an Installation tool? I was using RXP before and it has a installation tool you can use to add the 2D popup to any aircraft (It is up to you if you want to add it to the VC); with Mindstar I cannot find anything similar.

 

2. What is it that you have to do in order to do the custom installation? I have tried to do it with the Carenado PA34 Seneca II, the Carenado King Air B200 an the A2A C172, C182, PA28 Cherokee.

 

PA34 Experience: I followed every single step provided in the Mind Star website but it seems to be just not possible, with the PA34 I was able to add it as a 2D popup but for some reason the NAV Freq Swap button does not work; when I click on it the window disappears, I decided to try the VC installation, it works perfectly except for the fact that when I click on it, the popup window does not appear and when I modify the panel.cfg file in order to add it as a 2D popup window also, it will stop working once I click on the GNS530, the popup shows up, but the GNS stops working and the FSX crashes.

 

B200 Experience: I have not tested this configuration too much, I tried to add the 530/530 setup since this is the original configuration the plane comes with, again, I followed the steps provided in the web site but the thing just does not work; when I try to pull up the 2D popup the FSX crashes, and the VC configuration has the same problem (Some click spots do not work).

 

A2A Experience: It works flawlessly.

 

Thanks in advance for any information you guys can provide me with... If anyone here is currently using the software with any of the Carenado aircrafts I mentioned, I would really appreciate an explaination on how the issues were sorted out.

Carenado makes integration difficult, at best. However, it is possible to get them installed and working.

 

Post the panel.cfg for the PA34.

Ok, here's my current panel.cfg for the PA34... As you can see in the [Vcockpit03], Gauge01 is disabled, that would allow me to see the GNS Popup window but then it stops working.

You don't have a window defined for a popup of the GNS. You can not run a default FS GPS gauge with our 430/530 gauge. I have edited the panel.cfg you posted to allow for a popup of the GNS.
