Hawker 800XP Documentation

Recommended Posts

There are 2 push buttons right under the MFD (labeled radio 1 and radio 2) Not sure if that's you're talking about...

I see a lot of people are struggling with the lack of documentation.

Please refer to the Hawker 800XP manual, which is basically the same aircraft.

I have to pay to download it? I just want fuel performance numbers but it says those pages aren't available in preview mode

The easiest way to view it in full, is to download the Scribd app on iPad or android, then save these file links to your library.

You then wouldn't need to either sign up, or pay for anything.

Has anyone found the Avionics Power switch?

Not sure how Carenado has modeled things, but on a real 800XP PL21, the display tubes and FMS CDUs come on with main battery or external power. (Two switches on the overhead panel). There are two, (or optionally three), AC inverter switches on the overhead panel (right side), that must be turned on so that the red "fail" annunciators go out, and then the previously mentioned "Radio 1" and ""Radio 2" buttons on the lower main instrument panel.

Since the Caranado add-on is probably simplified in many ways, they may have a completely different way of powering avionics.

The Carenado is the same, however the inverters announciators are not modelled (this can be fixed though)

I wonder if the Carenado inverters actually DO anything, systems-wise? On the real aircraft, many avionics sub-systems won't work properly with the inverters off, but I don't know if their functionality is modeled or not. I suppose I'll have to buy the aircraft to see "the good, the bad and the ugly" for myself!

No the inverter switches don't do anything as far as I can see. But having a look at the coding I can figure something out if Carenado don't fix it in a service patch.

Bert, the avionics should just turn on when you turn the battery on. You may have the issue others I have heard have with no gauges showing. I read someone uninstalled, restarted the system, reinstalled, and restarted the system again. Give it a go?

Before you pay just for the Performance numbers, keep in mind that the 800XP and the 850XP do have many of the same systems but, the performance of the 850XP is different enough that you should seek specific Performance Charts for this Hawker. The 850XP has a higher (better) climb rate and increased range so most of the performance charts for the 800XP will not reflect what your 850XP is capable of doing.
